Social Media Marketing (SMM) For Your
Business
By Marc King
What is Social Media? Often referred to as the 5th "P" in marketing Social Media is about "Participation" Social media unlike traditional media such as newspapers, television, books, and radio is fundamentally different. It is not finite meaning there are no limits. Audience participation, adding comments or editing the stories is the social differentiator. Then the content itself by virtue of it's electronic format can also take the form of text, graphics, audio or video. These media can be combined and made available via feeds that can be downloaded by users with feed readers or pulled into other distribution sites featuring mash-ups of content from various sources.
The term Social Media has several different connotations, however in the context of internet marketing, it refers to a group or network of web properties primarily driven by the users. For example, blogs, forums, and video sharing sites. Social Media Optimization (SMO) is the process of trying to get one's content more widely distributed across multiple networks.

There are two sides to Social Media, the first side is made up of on-page tactics that a webmaster can do to improve their website for inclusion in network services. This is known as SMO as stated above. Such optimization includes adding links to services such as Technorati, Digg, and Del.icio.us so that their pages can be easily "saved and submitted" to and for these services. Social Media Marketing (SMM) is the off-page tactics side of the equation. This includes writing content that is remarkable, and news-worthy. Marketing this content is done by promoting links on the services mentioned as well as more traditional SEO tactics or creating video that may become viral when posted on Youtube or other video sites. Social Media is all about being social so this off-page work includes getting involved in other blogs, forums and online communities.

Set Yourself a Schedule
To Make Sure YOU Succeed Online!
By Danny Clare
Online businesses are much different than its traditional brick and mortar counterpart. Working online affords you the opportunity to do many things that a traditional business does not. High at the top of the list is the freedom it gives you. Freedom to take breaks when you want to, to work when you feel like it and to decide not to work whenever you please. While this sounds like a good thing, it often causes many to take too many breaks. Inaction is a problem amongst online business owners. Often, we find ourselves reading forum posts and sales page after sales page that we find a few hours have passed and we have done nothing. It is easy to get caught up in the NEXT big thing and the NEXT big opportunity that we shuck the projects we have been working on and jump ship to the latest money making schemes.
There is a great term for this of which I am unsure who the originator was. The term is analysis paralysis. Reading too much, thinking too much and not taking any sort of action. We get too worried that we will fail or we take too much time rethinking an article or squeeze page that we do not do anything about it.
The great Wayne Gretzky once said, "You miss one hundred percent of the shots that you do not take." If you don't do anything, then don't expect anything. Failure is a part of business. Failure is not a bad thing and in my opinion is essential to success. Failure is the world's greatest teacher. While some may hit a home run right out of the gate, many will not.
Deciding to take action and keep taking action while learning how to use failure as a teaching tool will be the difference between success and being just another failed business owner.
If you are serious about making your online business a success then you need to start treating it as a business and not a hobby. Being at home makes it easier for you not to take any action. Setting a daily schedule of tasks will get you on the right track. For example you can start to set daily, weekly and even monthly tasks and goals. Set a to do list of things to complete such as writing five articles or updating your web site with fresh content. Setting such a schedule forces you to take action and forces you to get things done daily. Once you have completed your tasks then allow yourself to read forum posts or do other online surfing.
If you look at successful online business owners, you will find one common thing. There is one thing that separates them - they all are action takers and doers, not action observers. If you want to succeed in your online business, then you need to get in the game and start taking some shots. You may not make all of them, but the ones you do will be ever so sweet.

Common Technical Questions
How do I upload or place a banner in my ad?
If you have purchased
Impression credits alone or if the credits are included
in an Ad Package you can upload your own banner from
your computer.
When you are logged in to
your account's Home Page, click on the tab "Ad
Services", once there you will see tabs on the left
of this page.
On the tabs to the left
you will see "Impressions".
On the Impressions page
you will see your Ads ID #, Heading and beside it six
Action buttons "View", "Edit", "Banner",
"Del", "Stats" and "Deact".
If you click on Banner
button, it will open up a pop up window that will allow
you to upload a banner from your computer. Remember the
banner must be in a JPG or GIF format and cannot exceed
500 x 80 pixels.
If you want to remove a banner ad
but not delete it from your system you can click on "Deact"
button to deactivate the banner and to remove the ad and
Banner completely just click on "Del" to
permanently remove.
If you have any questions
regarding placing
your ad banners or if we can help in anyway please
contact us.
