JNV Entrance Exam

The Government of India launched JNV in 1986 as part of its National Policy on Education. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is its full name. JNV is currently present in 28 states and seven union territories. JNVs are co-educational residential schools that are fully funded and supervised by the Indian government through the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous institution. The JNV exam is used to gain admission to JNVs. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) is a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) exam that is held in Class VI.

Eligibility Criteria for Rural Candidates for the NV Entrance Exam:

At least 75% of a district's seats will be filled by students from rural areas, with the remaining seats filled by students from the district's metropolitan districts.
Candidates seeking admission under the rural quota must have completed the entire academic session at a government/government-aided/government-recognized school(s) located in rural areas.
The student must, however, complete the entire academic period in Class V in the same district where admission is sought.
