Are You Automated?

Since the time the first automobile rolled off the assembly line, the term Automation has been a buzz word in every industry from Steel Manufacturing to Publishing and more.  The main benefit is that Automation streamlines routine work so that it costs less, saves time, and frees up resources which can better be used elsewhere to move the business forward.

Our Guest writer this edition, Abe Cherian shares with us some Automation Tips and Resources to help you put some of your more routine tasks like follow up on auto-pilot thus freeing you up to grow your business.

Our "Internet Profit & Newbie's" Advisor delivers a short but powerful message about the impact that emotion has on a business's marketing strategy and our Blog Dude Kenneth Sword brings us Part 2 of his series of articles, "Designing a Page That Compliments Your Content" where he discusses the importance of professional quality artwork.

Settle in Ladies and Gentlemen, it's that time again...

The day will come when, after harnessing space, the winds, the tides and gravitation, we shall harness for God the energies of love.

And on that day, for the second time in the history of the world, we shall have discovered fire."

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin paleontologist, biologist, philosopher & Jesuit priest 1881-1955

"It was devastating. My teacher started crying, all the girls started crying..."
Jim Johns, Houston; remembering the assassination of JFK on Nov. 22, 1963.

A Jamaican woman stopped... legs buckled under her. Clasped her hands and cried, "My son in one building; my daughter in the other."
Jenna, New York; remembering 911; September 11, 2001

Are You Forever Invisible?

Business strategists loudly proclaim the merits of repetition. Yet, from the pages of time, the voice of late author Tryon Edwards softly whispers an inescapable truth; "We rarely forget that which has made a deep impression on our minds."

Neil Armstrong landing on the moon. Bob Hope's smile. September 11th. The assassination of JFK. Our first love. Moments forever etched in our memories. Not by repetition, but by emotional impact.

Ninety percent of websites fail. Eighty percent of new businesses fail. They fail, not by lack of desire or lack of funds, but by lack of impact. Most business owners are afraid to walk the edge. Afraid to stand up and stand out. Afraid to be different.

Sadly, the best results that the timid get is to stay forever invisible.

Anita Roddick's vehement protests against animal testing in the name of beauty rocketed The Body Shop to success despite an advertising budget of zero. And Seth Godin's Purple Cows... and the Starbucks experience. And who of the Coke generation can't sing along with the tune "I'd like to buy the world a Coke..."

If you long to be remarkable, but you're a little short on courage, ask yourself this; What do you stand for? What stirred your heart and led you to the path you walk?

Harness the power of what you stand for, what you love - and in the words of a humble Jesuit priest - you shall have discovered fire.

Designing a Page That Compliments Your Content Pt.2 (Artwork)

Blogs are blogs. They all pretty much look the same except for two major differences - artwork and title. What we would like to do is match the artwork with the title. Let's say our blog is titled "Bonehead". A header or 'masthead' of a dog running in a field would be complimentary. A sports car would not. But whether your title is relevant to your content, your artwork should be relevant to your title if possible. The image and title are part of your brand, the image you want your readers to remember you by so they'll come back for more. Both, title and image should send a single messege to the reader at first glance.

That means professional quality artwork, It doesn't have to be professionally created, but it must be of high quality. Create it yourself if your good enough. Cropped photo work can do a good job for this but you'll need to know how to 'layer' text on top and make it look spectactular or leave the image untouched and create a text image to place above or below the image.

A sample to see: Auto Blogs

Again, I cannot stress enough the importance of title and image being relevant to each other.

Next post will be: Designing a Page That Compliments Your Content Pt.3 (Fonts and Colors)

Happy blogging.

Marketing Automation For Small Businesses And Web Entrepreneurs
Copyright 2006 by Abe Cherian

Many Internet marketers wonder how they spend less time
marketing their website so they can focus on delighting
their clients and developing better marketing strategies
to improve sales.

They often ask:

  1. How can I be efficient as possible so that I don't
    waste time and money?

  2. How can I spend less time on activities so that I don't
like (e.g. marketing and sales) and more time on activities
I love. (e,g. delighting customers, improving sales materials
    and products)?

  3. Every time I get busy with clients, marketing falls behind, so
I end up with a "feast or famine" cycle. How can I avoid the
frustration of being swamped with sales one month and famished
    the next?

  4. How can I get prospects, leads, customers, signups, and referrals
come to me instead of having to chase them?

  5. How can I build a substantial "contact list", fast, and manage it
    effectively?

  6. How can I organize my contacts, in one place and build lasting
    relationships with them?

  7. How can I turn visitors into qualified leads automatically --
instead of losing them to my competition?

  8. How can I follow-up with my prospects and turn them into paying
customers, even if I am on holiday?

  9. How do I organize my ad-copies/sales materials all in one place,
and use them whenever I need -- from any computer, anywhere in the
    world?

  10. How do I schedule an update/mailing for a future date, and have it
delivered even if I am not in front of my computer?

  11. How do I know which advertising is pulling better results for me?

  12. How do I know the cost of getting a prospect, and the cost of getting
    a paying customer?

  13. How do I know what my time is exactly worth?

One answer to the above questions is to develop "Automatic Marketing
Systems" that do your marketing for you while you do other things.

Marketing automation and CRM (customer relationship management) is not
just for big corporations -- it must be implemented to your marketing
even if you run a home-based business or promote an affiliate program.

When your marketing is effective and runs on auto-pilot, you enjoy a
number of benefits:

1.You spend more time on the tasks that you like to do, which usually
are those that got you into the business in the first place.

2.Clients come to you, and already know about your products, services,
or an opportunity, so you don't have to chase them.

3.While you're busy delighting current clients, you're still getting
the word out about your services, so you can smooth out the "feast
or famine" cycle that plagues so many Internet marketers.

4.You get leverage to grow your business faster.

Marketing is a science.
-----------------------

Everybody has a marketing system -- manual or automated. Yet,
all results are not equal. Some marketers emerge as giants, and
others, including those that started marketing at the same time
as the giants, either give up and go out of business or struggle to
stay afloat.

Why? What are the variables that make a difference in the same thing?

I'll tell you why...

The successful ones are better able to relate the needs of the
marketplace by using the right automation tools and analytics --
which helps them save time and money and make good judgments.

Tools To Automate Your Web Business:
------------------------------------

There are several affordable (from $20/month to $149/month) Marketing
automation websites/services that can help small business owners automate
parts of their marketing chores and save time and money and increase
your return on investment (ROI).

Some websites do part of the automation for you (like follow-up auto-
responders, and ad-tracking services), separately -- but very few will
satisfy all of the above concerns for a small business Internet marketer.

A service specifically targeted towards small businesses, home-based
entrepreneurs, and affiliate marketers will be www.iMediatools.com

iMediatools provides a solution to all of the above concerns that
is affordable and practical to Internet Marketers. You can even try
the full version for a period of 15 days before you get the Enterprise
version.

Having total control over your marketing, lists, databases, and leads
pays off thousand times over.
