Hi Bogdan
I have noticed a lot of articles in your newsletter about PIYB, the refunds
and the general 'SCAM' issue that surrounds the whole subject.
Anyway, I would like to give my point of view of the PIYB subject from a
different angle - I WORKED FOR THEM!!
Early in 1999 I set-up a site (http://www.wisewolf.com)
that submitted
people's sites to the search engines and the like. After having my site up
for about 3 weeks and buying some advertising from PIYB I was contacted by
PIYB offering me a job writing downloadable software and to run a service.
I was very excited at this as I always wanted to work from home in the UK
and not have to worry about going out and doing a 9-5 every day. I accepted
the job and gave up my 9-5 after a short while to concentrate on running a
better service for PIYB and writing software.
Everything went well for a while and then WHAM things started to get a
little scary and my association with PIYB was cut off (by them) after about
4 months of working for them. This left me un-employed and even worse left
me in a lot of debt.
After a few months of searching for a new job and contacting people to
explain why I was not able to pay my bills I received another email from
PIYB asking me if I would be interested in starting to work for them again
and this time EVERYTHING WOULD BE DIFFERENT!!. Because I was desperate and
probably because I am VERY STUPID I agreed.
Everything went well for a while AGAIN and then nothing - NO EMAILS AND NO
CALLS ANSWERED OR MADE. This led me into big trouble and eventually left me
$7,700 in debt. I couldn't believe it - here I was working for a company
that couldn't be bothered to contact their employees and tell them what was
happening - not even a 'one line' email - This went on for about 8 weeks.
After a lot of digging around and a number of calls to people in the USA I
found out that PIYB where closing down and were no longer functioning. This
made me very angry as I have always believed that employees where supposed
to know what was happening with the company they are working for.
Ultimately, this whole situation of working for a company in the USA from
home in the UK has led me to believe that it is a bad idea to work for
anyone on a 'remote' basis unless you can find out all about them and know
that their reputation is solid before you start to work for them. So if
anyone is considering to give up their 9-5 to work on the internet then make
sure that everything is as it should be - DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I
DID!!
I still receive a number of emails from customers of PIYB asking me where
they have gone? what has happened? and why the software they are using
(Submit Extreme 2000, Submitter 15000 and Classified Extreme) no longer
works. In answer to all these people I would just like to say that PIYB are
no longer in existence and that all the software won't work because of it.
This is a very unfortunate situation because I have always considered
customer service to be the main PRIORITY and when someone tells me that the
software I wrote no longer works then it makes me feel bad because I
personally wrote it.
On a lighter note I have written a new piece of FREE promotion software that
DEFINITELY works and is moderated by myself. People can download and see

Lastly, I would just like to apologise to everyone for the trouble they have
had with PIYB and would just like to remind everyone that I AM NO WAY
ACCOUNTABLE for their actions as I only worked for them and had ABSOLUTELY
no control other any actions (or not) that PIYB took.

Thanks for your assistance in this matter. It is
refreshing to see a sincere effort being put forth
such as this. Many companies on the internet are
just going for the fast buck, and a gesture such as
yours is the type of bright light that will make the
internet flourish instead of becoming just a hangout
for cash grabs and con artists. I commend you for
your dedication to your subscribers.
There were approximately 20 people that signed up
directly from my PIYB page, but I do not have their
email addresses. I can only hope that they subscribe
to Adland Digest and will receive your message. The
PIYB site concept seemed to be working because I got
several hits from the material on my site and subsequent
additional downline listings before PIYB went off-line. I
don't know what happened and probably never will,
so it is onward and upward. I'll just add this to the
continually increasing list of internet program dropouts.

I feel in all honesty that is a half-truth. In a long past issue of this
digest, I made some references to what I felt at the time to be a
*scam* regarding PIYB. If I recall correctly, part of my posting was
allowed with a moderater comment saying they are paid advertisers
and to kindof leave them alone. (don't insult them.)
ANYway- the post had to do with my telling the readers that the
Warrior group was the best marketing
help/information/products...ect....to be had online. I said it to be
Helpful. To sincerely Help people.
I hate it when something like this happens. There are too many
sharks in the water. I've been online for 6 years - actively
marketing for over 3 and I've seen a LOT. I have always been very
careful in selecting what I buy into. I understand that a lot of
people bought into PIYB because it *was* advertised here and for
no other reason EG: in essence - supported-recommended.
Everyone of us that runs an Ezine, digest, newsletter ect...Knows
that we must choose our advertisers Very Carefully because like it
or not...it IS a reflection of US. It will always be so in this medium
IMO. I know my readership *trust* me to point out only products I
myself have tested out...and so thats what I do.
I Never Ever recommend anything I have not test-driven. And if it
stinks, I say so and I don't care how much they want to pay me to
say otherwise! My readership is too darn important to be *had* for
a few $$$.

I have one other thing I wanted to share in this post. It has to do
with the most wonderful little tool I have ever run across and it is
amazingly - free. It's called HumanClick and if you have not yet put
this feature on your site - you are missing the boat. Just since I
have been writing this post I have had two calls to talk with people
on my website resulting in one sale. Ratio seems to be that for
every 3 people I actively chat with - 1 buys. I've been using
humanclick for about 2 months now and it's just - simply the best.

Why Bother Giving Away Free Stuff?
This new site (http://www.robrob8.com )is possibly an
example,
although extreme, of how to give away freebies in order to gain
revenue attracting traffic. While downloading pranks, the person
is surrounded by ads.
Will it work, yes!
Can this work on your site? Probably not, Robrob8.com is designed for this
type of freebie.
But, what if you designed your business site around free stuff? Can you
capture an audience?
Yes, but to make it really work you should have linkable content, something
someone can take with them that always has a link back to you.

There has been quite a few articles about Paid To Surf programs and referral
programs so I thought I would have my say.
The thing is about referral programs is that there are just two many Paid To
Surf programs list, some sites have up to 250. This is far too many, and it
doesn't matter how much you advertise your site your downline will grow very
slowly.
I joined AllAdvantage, Cashsurfers, and TheMail.com in January then popped
along to Maxref to register them there and just advertised my Maxref site.
I now have a whopping four people in my downline! I stopped advertising
Maxref at the end of February because it's hard enough getting people to
your website, but the chances of them joining the same programs as you when
there are a couple of hundred to choose from is pretty slim.
I joined a new Paid To Surf program on 3rd March and just advertise that
site, I have got 91 people in my downline. The reason I am getting so many
people in is that it is new, in fact it's that new it isn't going to be
released for about two weeks.

Another major factor is that I advertise to over 199000 FFA's and send my ad
to over 780 opt-in lists every day without spamming and without receiving
any junk mail at all. I only use this site for promoting, there is loads of
stuff and secrets you can use, sell or put on your website. I've only been
using this site for just over a week, but it has helped me put in over 50

After reading it, our investigetor Peter G. Browne decieded to check it

and write about it in his series of articles in regards to truth about

He asked Bob K several questions and verified the site in terms of what
was writen here and on the site itself.
Emails where being cc to me and I'm just summerizing it here.
It turned out that the certificate on one of the sites linked from the
main site was just fake one on which owner responded.

an E-Commerce site and the Certificate that you viewed is a fake one. Yes I
said fake. Lets be honest that is what I pride my self on. We are testing
one of our servers that we are going to use. This fake SSL certificate lets
us know that it is working on our end. We activated it just briefly.
If you were to see one for our site it would be a good active one.
We do not have a need for it on that site because we do not have a need for
it."

these are basic questions that anyone shopping for a design and hosting
company should ask and that you should be able to answer.

previous email where either not entirely clear/true or they still need
to be addressed.

justice, peace, dreams, the imagination,
mankind, and making angels in the snow.

and my car-keys, my credit card bills
and my 401K statements. I am officially
resigning from adulthood.

This just reminded me of my current internet life. I am trying to make
money at home with an internet business, so I can spend more time
watching movies, reading books, surfing the web, and going on picnics....
and dont forget the occasional game of tag. (ok, so in my house it is more
of a daily event...but that is besides the point.) I have found that the
most
important thing to being effective at any business is setting a goal and
keeping
that in front of you at all times. Make sure that it is realistic, make
sure that
you are comfortable with it, and make sure that you can live up to it. I
have found that by doing that, you are more likely to be successful, and
more likely to keep your sanity. I have been looking at these affiliate
programs and other such money making programs for months now.
I have found mine which is making me a lot of money, and requires little
amount of work.
I firmly believe that the reason I have been successful is beacause of my
goals. One of which was to allow me time to try and publish my poetry. And
I just found out that I am being published in a world wide peotry magazine,
both on and off internet. I would say that I successfully accomplished my
goals. I wish all of you the best of luck.

Mark, you give not one reason to visit any of the links you have. Maybe it
is good information, maybe not. But without any reason to click on one link
over the other, it seems that I'll be wasting my time at your site trying to
find the help that you are pretending to offer by offering me services that
exist elsewhere.
Why would I end up on your page as opposed to just going to a search engine
and typing in "make money with my e-business"? At least the search engine
would give me about 10 words to use as I select one link over the other. You
give me no incentive whatsoever to select a link or even return, ever, to
your page again.
Even your offer of a free consultation service is only a link to your email.
With no idea as to what kind of help you are qualified to give me or what
kind of help you are ready to give. You need some CONTENT!
I've said it many times "Pick a single area and become an EXPERT at it". DO
NOT add money making urls to your page without telling the visitor why they
are there!
There are a million (actually probably more) pages out there like yours.

This series of pages was made almost 2 years ago. All I can say is it does
have some content. It isn't pretty, but it works and filled a need I had
then. Now it just works for me as a resource for those that do need the
information that I have there. AND it is linked from the home page of the
site where the real reason is to make money from dating services. The link
to the home page is in the top banner. I don't really care if the person
using the make money information goes back to my home page, they aren't
interested in dating to meet people, they want dating to earn $$$
Take a look and you'll hopefully get some ideas on how to craft your page
and really, really make it work for you!

Economical Use of Banner Ads On Your Web Site!

Ever go to a site and there were a dozen or so banners and it
took forever for the page to load? If you are selling your own
product or service or selling for affiliate programs that you
belong to, you probably have banner ads available.
Most affiliate programs will have a good selection of promotional
tools for you to use when you sign up. Banners are usually one of
the tools that you are given. If you are trying to develop
multiple income streams you probably are associated with a number
of affiliate programs like we are. Some can be for products, some
for services and some may be network marketing type programs.
Plus as I mentioned earlier, you may also have your own
products/services too.
No matter what the type of program or product you are offering,
the one thing that you want to do is get exposure for them so you
get sales or member sign ups. For purposes of this discussion
let's say you are associated with eight such programs or products.
So here you have eight different banners you want to get prospects
to click on to increase your income stream. What do you do? Do
you place eight different banners on your web page? I wouldn't!
First it doesn't look very professional to have a page cluttered
up with eight to ten different banners. Secondly, it will probably
make your page load very slowly and you will then create what I
call "click aways", when someone is waiting for your page to load
and it takes so long that they just click another link to another
site.
What's the solution? Get yourself a rotating banner script. You can
get it free and it really isn't that hard to set up. What is a
rotating banner script? The one we use is a cgi based script which
allows you to load as many banners into it as you want to rotate
and place a short one line of html code on your page. Each time a
new visitor goes to your page a new banner comes up automatically.

The banner on the top of
the page is on a rotating script. Let the banner load and then
hit your browser "refresh" button and you will see another banner
come up in its place. Repeat it as many times as you want, and it
will randomly select a new banner from the twelve or so we have
loaded into the script.
One other neat thing about this is that you can have the banners
rotate on as many pages as you want and you only need to set the
script up once on your site. We have it on about 20 pages of our
site. All it takes is to put that one short line of code on the
html page you want the banners to appear on. The more pages you
have it on, the more exposure you get. If someone surfs six pages
of your site and your happen to have the banner script on those
pages, there is a good chance they will see six different banners.
So where do you get it? While there are a number of the scripts
available both for free and for a fee, we got ours for free from
Cliff's Perl Scripts site. Just go to his site at:
http://www.shavenferret.com/scripts and
look for "Cliff's Banner
Rotator Version 2.51". There was a link to it right on the first
page the last time we were there. Then just download the files
(there's only 3 small ones), follow the easy directions and upload
it to your site.
It is a great way to get exposure for the multiple activities
that you might be involved in. You can put 2, 5, 8 or 12 like we
have. You could even put different banners from the same program
(we have two from the same program in the rotation). Be creative!
You could even sell space on a rotating script! Take a look at it
and see if you might be able to use it to your advantage and
create a more economical use of your web real estate.
