Greetings All

Welcome  190 new subscribers who joined list since last mailing.

In the last issue of Adland Digest I have offered  an opportunity for
those of you who write their own articles and I asked that
you let me know if you would be interested in writing for me.

Just to remind what the writing will be about, see this snip
from previous digest issues.

The below paragraph is part of the new advertising package which is
almost implemented.

<Snip start>

4. We will build for you mailing list, for which we will provide the content.
These will be professionally written articles, sent once a week to the
subscribers who joined the list from your reference. Each mailing will
contain one ad, which will be your ad.
The intention is that we will provide professionally written articles in
every possible area. To start, there will be a few selected ones.
  <Snip end>

Full info here.

You won't have to worry about maintaining of your mailing list,
paying for bandwidth and you will never be accused of spam. Your
mailings will be sent to interested readers, and it will be my responsibility

I have used PayPal for almost a year. I have never had one fraction of trouble.
I find them responsive and attentive. Sure they have grown immensely and
rapidly. I enjoy getting my money instantly rather than waiting days. I have
never had an objection from any client about using PayPal. I would investigate a
little further before discrediting a company that has obtained great success and
offers a very good service.

I am interested in good business not politics or over-reactive conjecture.

In reply to Mariateresa's letter, about paypal, I have found another company
that works the same as paypal did BUT you also get commissions from them. They
are called CASHCARDS and are located at http://www.cashcards.net/rep/39557

The benefits greatly outdo paypal and the maximum charge for any transaction is
50 cents!! so check out the above address.

Hello Bogdan

Firstly thanks for producing such an interesting ezine.

Regarding the paypal issue, as an Internet Marketer working from home I have
nothing but praise for their service. Paypal has definitely made doing business
on the Net a whole lot easier for me.

For payments it's as simple as registering your credit card and every
transaction is safe and secure. It's less hassle to fund than e-gold.

It's also a great way to receive payment as I have my bank account registered
with them and transferring funds is done at the click of a mouse. As I live in
New Zealand this is much better than waiting for a cheque to arrive. I suppose
the only other satisfactory alternative would perhaps be some form of
International debit card. Meanwhile I will continue using Paypal.

Subject:PayPal

I have used PayPal as one of my main ways to accept payments
for over 2 years now. I must say I have NEVER had one problem
with them. I hate to think how many really good companies out
there that had to start on a shoe string budget would not have
made it without PayPal.

Can anyone really say that there is any company out there that
has not given someone some kind of trouble at one time or
another? I doubt it!!

PayPal is a fair priced way for small businesses to make it for
online payments. I do not quite understand who is having all
these problems and what they are?? Maybe someone wants to
enlighten me.

Why don't those of you who use PayPal for your business and are
happy with it, write a letter here so new readers will not be
afraid to sign up for PayPal. Every new customer that does not
sign up for PayPal because of the things they read could be
potential lost customers when they find your site and have no
other way of paying. If any of the readers have ACTUALLY HAD  a
problem with PayPal we would like to hear about it. I do not
want to hear about someone who heard that someone read about
someone who had a problem.

By the way, PayPal now accepts Discover and AMEX which will
only add more customers out there for those of us who use
PayPal. I say Thank You PayPal for giving me the opportunity to
become an online business that is doing very well!!

Subject:POP UP or UNDER

These types of intrusive advertising are as annoying as SPAM. I stringently
object to them. When I see them, I just delete them, as I will any Spam. I
refuse to be force to look at an advertisement that is forced on me.

I have been in business on the Internet since 1995. It has taken a great deal of
hard work and perseverance but my business has grown to the point that I have
had to hire quite a few staff members. The important point here is that I have
never used Spam and I have never used sneaky or coercive tactics. Everyone is
looking for the quick buck and uses all of these sleazy methods of advertising.
What has happened to good old hard work and innovative thinking? Sure, it takes
longer but it is stronger and longer lasting.  I think that Bogdan can verify
this.

Subject:POP UP or UNDER

How are popups or popunders any less "intrusive" than "spam?" I can recognize a
spam when I go to my mailbox and can take the appropriate action to delete.
With the popups, they pop up right in the middle of something I'm doing.  I
purchased a program that seems to take care of most of it: Buzof, but popups are
AGGRESIVELY INTRUSIVE and interfere with whatever a person may be doing. And
they required me to spend money to eliminate them. Spam does none of this.
Would like your response.

Hello Bogdan,

Below I am sending my response to HTML Question from Elizabeth Piotrowski in the
last Issue:

Hello Elizabeth,

In response to your question, I'd like to tell you several words: The HTML line
you mention helps ONLY for the new and frequently changing IE Versions that
started to appear recently. No other browser. This line only tells IE which
version of IE it should use to show your page correctly.

However, it is essential to have it in your code as the first line.

The IE Version Item is quite large and complicated to deal with it here.

If you ever want to adopt any information or advice, be sure that you have it
all and understand it the right way.

It'd be great if there were a formula like this, ensuring your pages are
displayed the correct way in all the browsers, unfortunately there is none.

Hi Thomas, I am responding to your eBook question because not only have I
created eBooks, I sell them from my website and have set it up myself for secure
purchasing. I also have written a web-based training course on the subject of
eBook publishing which is delivered through over 800 educational establishments
worldwide.

Creating eBooks is an extremely easy process once you establish the 'route' you
are going to take, the level of security you want, and the process/method you
are going to use to sell and market them. These are all questions that need
answering before you can really decide which route is the best to take.

I visited your website (which looks very professional), and could not establish
whether or not you created the site yourself. You do not say what your level of
experience is with HTML, or if you have a copy of Adobe Acrobat, or how much you
are willing to spend on your project.

I'd like to know who has written their own e-book?
What program did you use to create it? Adobe Acrobat?
Who do you use for hosting?
How do you protect it so only paid buyers can download?
Please respond.
______________
Yes I've written many ebooks and no, I don't use Adobe software
as they can not be used by people who are "visually
challenged."   In other words, people who use "text to speech"
reader programs.  And, until they rectify this in their
software, I will continue to boycott them.

My ebooks are written in a "free" text editor as why go to the
extra step of writing them in other more expensive software
when your ebooks usually end up as HTML and then compiled using
an ebook compiler.  I happen to use ebookcreator as my ebook
compiler because its price is $19.95 at
http://www.ebookcreator.com  -- don't believe what it says that
you only have until the end of the day to get it for that
price -- it's been that price for over a year and a half (LOL).

Yes, it has a password protect feature but it leaves a lot to
be desired.  But who cares as there is no fool proof method of
protection.  All ebooks can be cracked so I don't bother
password protecting any of my ebooks.

There are many "free" ebook compilers on the web and you can
download them from here:

http://www.bizinfocenter.com/ebookresources/compilers.html

or you can read good reviews on other ebookcompilers by going
to:

http://www.ebookcompilers.com/

or more links and info on ebooks here:

http://www.writerswrite.com/epublishing/compilers.htm

I sell my ebooks on CDs from my site or through a restricted
list if the person joins "A Good Read Art & Book Club."  But
other authors use places like

http://www.infopost.com
http://www.authorsden.com
http://www.booklocker.com

or they use an "exclusive" epublisher for sells.  You just have
to go to a search engine and a list will pop up with hundreds
of sites.

I host with http://www.jumpline.com and found them to be
excellent.  There are others on the Internet just as good.  But
do get your own domain name because you are "branding" yourself
and creating credibility.

It took me three years on the Internet to build a very viable
business as Bogdan can attest to as he saved "my tush" as a
newbie and one of the reasons I love his newsletter and try to
offer help whenever I can.  So my point, take your time, study
what you need and then market the heck out of your ebook.
After all, some of your ebook "readers" are just now being
born.

If you'd like to see examples of how these ebooks look using
the ebook compiler I mentioned, just go to my site as I have
free ebooks there for downloading.

Hope this helps,

Judith Tramayne-Barth

It's so good, Sunil let's you try it FREE.

You can password protect your entire E-Book,
or just protect selected pages and allow
your users to see a preview of part of the
book before they get their password.
You can even allocate up to 1,000 different
passwords per E-Book - each user will require
a different one - to prevent password "sharing".

There are way too many features and resources

Subject:Previous Article -  Submitting To Search Engines, The Right Way By Boris
Chow

Boris Chow has written a super article about the
engines. I have found it only takes one submission to
the engines. Keywords and keyword relevance are
crucial.

The spiders do the rest. Human edited search
directories are the worst when it comes to getting
indexed.
My indexing is firm in the major engines!

Been that way for quite a while. Have I resubmitted?
Nope. Ranking and listing for particular keywords
changes over time.

Curious? Just go to yahoo! and type in
jgp-distribution to see my indexing.

My meta keywords can be viewed at the site with view
source. Then use them to check my ranking and listing.
It has slipped some what but I lost my obsession years
ago. :)

Also link popularity plays a big part. That means true
links and not the link me type site trades. Those
instant 500 link type things clutter and ruin the
search engine indexing.
A little known secret Trading true reciprocal links
are back doors into the major search engines. The
spiders will add you with the indexing of the popular
site you have exchanged links with! How do I know? I
have seen it with my own eyes!

Hats off to Mr. Chow for the great article!

To Jim about our site review request
Please be advised that our search engine is in the early stages of
development. We will be adding more search engine databases to our
metasearch engine. We will also be adding different categories too, as this
will take time to search for and add them to our search engine.  You say
that there are other search engines more powerful than ours, can you
eloborate on that as we can possibly add these features to make our search
engine more powerful and more user friendly.  We only know of one meta
search engine that may search more than ours which is saavysearch.  Ours
currently searches 14 different search engines.  But we will be focusing on
databases and not just search engines.  For further emails you can either
email to this newsletter or directly to us at improvements@metasearchat.com

Can The Spam!
ByA.T.Rendon

Many of you were very concerned at the enormous increase
in junk email, estimated to have grown about 42% during 2001,
and the seemingly non-stop invasion of X-rated email.

Analysts predict that the volume of email on the Internet,
most of it junk, will grow another 50 percent in 2002.

That is a lot of email!

With estimates that the number of Internet users is nearing
the 1 billion mark, the amount of email floating around the
Internet is only going to get worse.

Many of you have asked if there is any sure-fire cure for all this
junk email that we receive right now and any more that may
appear this year.

The short answer - Yes.

Make good use of your delete button! :-)

The long answer is - No.

No, there is no 100 percent cure for the spam that plagues  us
all, X-rated or not.  But there are several ways to try and alleviate
this problem.

Most email programs, including Microsoft's Outlook Express, have
custom filtering features that are built into the program but which
are, more often than not,  very much unused.

The big problem in using ANY email filter system is that
they may cause blocking of legitimate email.

Basically, you can set up filters to remove email that comes
from a specific email address or set it up to block email
which contains certain key words in either the Subject section
or in the Body of the message.

Netscape Communicator 4.0 or later also have filtering ability
but Netscape Navigator does not have filtering ability.  And
Eudora 3.0 and above can also filter your email.

Filtering will not eliminate all spam email but it can make your
life on the Internet just a bit easier.

Just keep in mind that filters are a constant, ongoing process.
Spammers are always changing strategy to keep ahead of the
Filters or other Spam Blocking software.

Here are a few of the most popular email management tools:

SpamKiller by Novasoft
http://www.spamkiller.com/
Free 30 day trial.  $29.95 w/free upgrades.

Spam Buster by Contact Plus Corporation
http://www.contactplus.com/products/spam/spam.htm
Free download for evaluation.  $19.95 for registered version.

Brightmail
http://www.brightmail.com/
Considered one of the best, if not the top filtering program.

Elron Software
http://www.elronsw.com/
Internet filtering software.  Free trial downloads.

Mailshell
http://www.mailshell.com/
Free 30-day trial.  $29.95 per year.  Use unlimited email addresses.

Once you decide how you want to approach this problem, then
it is just a matter of keeping tabs on your email and making
adjustments to block future changes that spammers might make.

Keeping on top of this will allow you to can the majority of
the SPAM that is now finding it's way into your in-box.
