This reduced spam dramatically, but it also seemed to decrease

Is there any connection here or this was just double spaced

I have spent over one hour navigating thru the Gold Member's options.

AWESOME

If I cannot generate traffic to my sites using AdlandPro Gold Member resources,
then their is only one thing for me to do.

Pull the plug on my computer and forget about internet marketing.

I'm excited and cannot wait to get all my "marketing info" ready and dive back
in.

Its obvious you and your staff has hours, days, weeks, and months invested in

I honestly don't know what you can add to the Gold Membership ....... unless
free membership <g>

The modest monthly fee will separate the "no-very-serious" and the "serious

No need to reply ..... I just want to take time to express my opinion of

Dear Tom Falco,

Thanks for your article - most of those email addresses by the senders are
false, as they expect you to link to their website, so how do you go about
reporting these spammers.
I place ads on classifieds and get hundreds of  spam mail, probably from
internet thugs who harvest unauthorised email addresses from these ads, then
sell them to unsuspecting and uninformed bulk email spammers.
It is these people or organizations who needs to be either reported or
spammed back - although they are probably protected by antispam software
themselves.
I would like to hear how you go about doing this - all I am doing at this
stage is posting these addresses to my "block" emails on my email browser.

Hi Bogdan,

It's no secret that I own QuickTell autoresponders. As
such we have the same problem as you in that responder
addresses are harvested all the time, especially from
your web site!

I would suggest you spike your site with a script that
generates 1000's of false email addresses for the
benefit of spammer's sniffer software. There's a company
in Germany that gives this away free of charge.

What we did to protect QuickTell's clients was to add
incoming message parsing so that we could scan all of
the message in search of terms used in spam mails. It
works the same way as MailWasher and has the advantage
of filtering by RegExpressions.

I don't know if you can program that yourself but it
would definitely cut your spam down by at least 90%.

Claire,

In talking about Spam E-mail you made this comment and I have to comment
on it:

"This is all well and good and necessary. However, when I have time, I
browse through looking for "real people" among all the duplicates. I reply
to them with a thank you and my signature ad. Almost to a person, they
click on my signature link to visit my site. They are also now on my yahoo
list of addresses. Many gave their phone numbers, as well, and I jot them
down. Overtime I will explore the potential for a productive relationship
with the person."

By replying to them, even with only a thank you and your signature link,
you are Spamming too. Some people just Love to Call Spam on others even
though they are doing it themselves. It might be a sneaky way to get them
to your site, but they are Spamming You and by replying, you are Spamming
them.

Watch out and good luck,

From:John Olson
Subject: http://wewantmore.com/zzz/mil.html

Nadine,

I looked over your site, http://wewantmore.com/zzz/mil.html and I see it
is a doorway page to your DHS Club site and program. While I am not sure
DHS is the best program for someone to be in, I do know there are some who
are working it and making a little money. But there are others who...... I
will not go into how well anyone can do with this program, but it is my
belief, that there are much better programs one can market if you look.
You seem to be doing all right with this one, but I encourage you to help
your downline with this all you can. They are going to need it.

Now as to marketing, you can use the Hit Exchanges, Safelists, Classified
Ads and many other ways to market. But one thing you should not do is Spam
anyone. I must receive 10 to 20 DHS E-mails a week and they are all from
people who are Spamming me even if they don't know it. DHS seems to
encourage this kind of thing. Not good.

And then there are a lot of New Leads Generating Programs out there. Most
are paid and the going rate seems to be in the neighbourhood of $50 a
month, with an affiliate tie in that can get your costs covered. But that
is only if you want to spend some money doing promotion for this. One of
them offers, autoresponders set up to work the 60 leads a month they send
you, I am giving this one a try and it's to soon to tell just how good
they or any of the Lead Generating programs are going to be. I will not go
into how much Cash you can make with any of these. That is yet to be
proven, but if you want to look over this new one:
http://www.leadsncash.com/members/help4u2/ go ahead. They have AR's set up
for DHS as well as many other programs and should have the messages loaded
for you, but I suggest you personalize them, and if you get the Leads
Phone numbers call them if you want to really succeed with any of them.

There are also a host of older more established Leads companies around.
Some are better then others, but the price can be expensive.

As for any of the New Lead Generating Programs, only time will tell which
will do what they say they will. But with any of them, personal contact is
going to be the key.

And don't over look good old word of mouth. Talk to people. And when they
join, help them to do what you did, because that is the only way you are
going to get anywhere with this.

I wish you well,

John Olson

I just looked over http://www.livingood.cc/qppsingle.htm and I must say
you have done a nice job with it. The only thing I can say right off the
bat is the lower pages take a while to load on my dial up connection and
the pop up on the Home page took Forever. See if you can speed things up a
bit.

I was looking for something to tell me who you are and what makes you such
great place to take some courses from. Then I noticed the "About Us" link
on the top navigation bar. Just a thought, but you might want to add some
copy like this some where toward the top of the Home page, "Who and What
is Living Good Tech? Click Here to Find out Who and What we are and what
we can offer You." Of course the "Click Here" would be a hyperlink to the
"About Us" page.

I wish you well, I think you just might have something here.

From:John Olson

Linda,

I just looked over, http://www.terrificgifts.org and you have a nice
little site going here, but I do see a few problems with it. To start
with, the text on the left is butted right up to the far left line border.
I mean they are touching. If you can move the text at least one space out
from that border line. It will be easier to read then.

Now, for the rest. I looked over a few pages and even with all the
products and their pictures, I found the pages loaded rather fast. But I
had to back up or hit the Home Link to get to a menu to be able to click
onto another page. This was a bit annoying to say the least. I know you
have a lot of products and to place a new navigation bar on the bottom of
the page would take up a lot of space, but here's a thought. You have
things divided into categories anyway, so why not make a start page for
each one. That way it would be easier for you to place some links to the
other pages in that category at the bottom of each page. Or maybe redo the
site with all the navigation links on the left side on all the pages. It
would make getting around a lot easier.

Another thing, you sort of start to tell us who you are and what "Terrific
Gifts" is, but you kind of stop short. And on the "Contact Us" page, the
E-mail address should be Live so we can just click on it and send you a
message. The way you have it now, we have to copy the address, and then
head over to our E-mail client and paste it in. Not to convenient.

And I have said this before and I will say it again, it is not enough for
a site like this to just have links to pages of product without much of
anything else. Add some text that tells us something about the products on
each page. Something that helps us find what we might be looking for.
Maybe even some text links to some of the other pages as a way of
suggesting we look there too. But don't just show us a page of products
and say nothing about them other then their descriptions.

You have a lot of nice stuff for sale, and I hope you can get some traffic
and buyers to the site. But please find a way to make getting around to
the different pages easier on us poor shoppers. Good Luck.

Adriana,

Very nice site, and some very nice products. One of the first things I
noticed that could easily be changed, would be to add a Link to your
"About Us" page somewhere higher up in the text of the Home page. I would
want to know about you before I buy. And by adding something like, "Want
to know who we are, Click Here" could help a little.

Now as to why you are getting some traffic but not getting as many sales
as you want. You don't tell us, other then the search engines, what kind
of marketing or promotion you have been doing to get people to the site.
So it's hard to say what kind of traffic you are getting.

One thing to keep in mind, the Internet is World Wide and you are only
shipping within the USA. Some of your visitors might be from anywhere, and
because you don't ship to them, they leave thinking they can't buy from
you. Is there a way you can offer someone in the UK or Canada for example
the ability to shop with you?

Another thing you might do, is to hang out in message boards with people
who do arts and crafts and share ideas and thoughts. Of course you can
link to your site in your signature and might get some traffic and buyers
that way. Have you tried flyers posted around in your area with the site
address on them? You might offer a discount if someone makes a purchase
and uses a code placed on the flyer. Just some thoughts off the top of my
head.

I like your site and I wish you well with it. Take care.

Tom,

Great site and not to much to say about it other then good job. One thing,
the picture on the right on the Home page doesn't link to the Photo Page
as the other two do, you might want to fix that.

I like the flash banner Logo, but it does add to the load time of the page
the first time we click into it. It gets better once we've got it in the
memory though. You have a lot of links and resources for your visitors to
play around with.

I really like the Travel Stories you have on the site. Good idea... And
the pictures are a nice thought, but the flash when we first click into it
takes a bit to load, but it's worth it. However, you have a Ton of
Pictures on that first page, in fact it is just finishing loading and I
started it when I started writing this. The pictures are all small but
there are a lot of them, and the flash banner takes a chunk of the load
time and makes it even longer on this page for some reason. Maybe you can
find away to spread those pictures out to some more pages so they load
quicker.

All in all, you have a great site and I wish you well with it.

=====================Site Review Response  (6)===============
From:Andy Sparks
Subject: http://www.abcgiftsandbaskets.com

Hi Adriana

I don't remember where I saw this statistic, so don't ask me to document
it's accuracy, but I believe a well made web site averages one sale per
700 visitors.

Your site is as well made as any I have seen. I refer to sites like yours
as catalog sites, meaning they serve the same function as a mail order
catalog.  They show pictures and descriptions of products and provide a
means to place an order for those products.

If I operated a catalog site, I would create a search engine optimized web
page for each item that I had for sale.  The reason for this is when a
potential customer does a search for a Mother's Day Present, or
Golf related present, you have a much better chance of finding a targeted
customer.  The flip side of this is also good for the customer.  They
search for a specific type of gift and they can quickly find and purchase
that item.

I want to touch base on an important point.  You should not provide a link
from your home page to each of these pages. You already have a link page
on your site, so some place on the link page, link to a page that contains
links to all the search engine pages.  You don't want your human visitors
to have to search through all these pages. You want the search engines to
spider these pages.

I think of them as back doors to your web site.  A potential customer
searches for a specific subject and visits your search engine optimized
page for that subject.  Provide a link on that page back to your homepage
so they can find other products if that one doesn't suit their needs.

Please do not confuse this technique with spammy untargeted doorway pages.
You have to create a real page that will provide the potential customer
with good information and help them make a buying decision.

This technique requires a lot of work but it is the best free advertising
that you will ever find.  The search engines will love your pages because
they are targeted, relevant and provide good information to the searcher.
The people doing the searches will be happy because they search for
Mother's Day Present and there you are with a Mother's Day Gift Basket.

Your regular clients and the people arriving at your home page won't be
affected because you are not confusing them with a bunch of links.  They
probably will never know all those pages exist.

Oh by the way, search engines give higher ranking to sites that have lots
of well made pages that contain good information, especially if all the
pages follow the same theme.

If you go to http://www.yourrealestateforsale.com/link.htm and scroll down
towards the bottom, you will find a real estate for sale by owner site
review page for each of the fifty states in the USA.  I have three primary
sites and these pages are on each site but you have to look closely to
find them. Their purpose is to attract interested parties from search
engines.

Warning, if you submit a bunch of junky, spammy pages, you are probably
going to get banned by the search engines.  Quality and relevance is the
key to success with this technique.

Pop-Up Windows: A Nuisance or a Gold Mine?
ByKaron Thackston

How many times a day do you see them as you surf the Web?  Pop-up
and pop-under windows have become a widely used marketing tool.
But do they work?  Are they just a nuisance, or are they really
the gold mine that all the "gurus" claim?

After doing a good deal of research, I've discovered some pretty
interesting facts.  After implementing my own pop-up campaign,
I've had some enlightening moments.  Allow me to tell you what
I've discovered, and you can make up your own mind.

I started by looking to one of my favorite marketing research
resources, http://www.marketingexperiments.com.  They actually
spent over $4,000 testing pop-up windows and compiling the
results.  Their experiment included using pop-ups for a biweekly
ezine publisher and a computer products retailer.

The results were astounding!  The ezine publisher got 100 more
subscribers during a one-week period WITH the pop-up window than
WITHOUT.  The computer retailer received over 3,700 new
subscribers by using a pop-up window.  That was enough to
convince me to look further into using pop-ups on my own sites.

(NOTE:  One thing the experiment was careful to point out is that
copy plays an enormous role in the success or failure of the
pop-up.  I wholeheartedly agree!)

Using my KT & Associates site (http://www.ktamarketing.com) as
the guinea pig, I added a pop-up window (to show on exit) giving
information about my copywriting course.  Then I waited and
watched.  Success didn't take long!

While I do not conduct the "controlled" experiments that
MarketingExperiments.com does, I do have some basic data to offer
you.  After an 11-day period, I checked my site statistics and
was very pleased!  I had gotten a number of page views (not
"hits" - "page views") using the pop-up window.  I had also seen
a 50% conversion rate.  (Meaning that 50% of those who clicked to
my copywriting course site purchased the product.)  The pop-up
was working great!

What were the factors that made a successful pop-up window?  For
the folks at MarketingExperiments.com, it was an offer of some
sort.  The computer retailer offered the opportunity to win a
prize.  The ezine publisher offered the chance to enter a
sweepstake.  However, that leads to another issue (that I won't
get into at the moment) of attrition.  After the contest is over,
and the prize is awarded, will the subscribers unsubscribe?

For me, I offered something of interest to my visitors.  They
came to my site seeking marketing and copywriting information.
It made sense that they would be interested in the course.
Viewers never read every single word of your Web site, so the
pop-up window gave me the opportunity to tack a "PS" onto their
visits.  Sort of stating, "Oops!  You might have missed this.
Don't you want to take a look before you go?"

There are several things to keep in mind when creating pop-up
windows (based on my opinion).

1. Do make your pop-up window visible on exit, not entry, of your
site.  The reason being that when people enter your site and a
window flashes up immediately, it blocks their view of your index
page.  It also can be annoying.  Allow them to browse around a
bit and then, when leaving, have your window pop up.

2. Do make your message short and sweet.  Giant, flashing signs
and windows tend to give an overwhelming impression and cause
your visitor to back away.  Keeping your message short and your
pop-up window small are less obtrusive and, therefore, more
widely accepted.

3. Don't use multiple pop-ups on your site at the same time.
That is one surefire way to send your visitors packing.

4. Don't put pop-up windows on every page of your site.
Regardless of what the so-called marketing gurus tell you, it
will backfire due to the annoyance factor.

While I can't tell you what would work for your site or your
particular target market, I do recommend that you experiment a
little with pop-up windows.  You might just find another
inexpensive marketing method that will increase your cash flow!

=====================Joke of the Day   (1)===============

Five cannibals get appointed as engineers in a defense
company.

During the welcoming ceremony the boss says, "You're all
part of our team now.  You can earn good money here, and
you can go to the cafeteria for something to eat.  So please
don't trouble any of the other employees".

The cannibals promised.

Four weeks later the boss returns and says, "You're all
working very hard, and I'm very satisfied with all of you.
However, one of our janitors has disappeared.  Do any of
you know what happened to him?"

The cannibals all shake their heads no.

After the boss has left, the leader of the cannibals says to
the others, "Which of you idiots ate the janitor?"

A hand raises hesitantly, to which the leader of the
cannibals replies, "You fool! For four weeks we've been
eating Team Leaders, Supervisors and Project Managers
and no one noticed anything, and you have to go and eat the
janitor!"
