Chaco Horned Frog USA

The Chaco Horned Frog in USA is a species of frog in the family Ceratophryidae. They are known for their unique defense mechanism - when picked up or otherwise provoked, they inflate themselves like a balloon and secrete a sticky substance from glands on their shoulders. Chaco horned frogs get their name from an attractive physical characteristic; there are fringes of skin on the tips of the toes that form small horns. It is sometimes confused with the Pacman frog, its larva; also, both can appear in similar colors.
