Substance abuse is a widespread problem in the United States. It is estimated that almost two-thirds of Americans will use illicit drugs at some point in their lifetime.
The goal of SAP Evaluation Atlanta is to help people stop using drugs and alcohol and overcome addiction. Counselors may provide individual, group, family, and couples therapy to those who are addicted to substances.
The counselor helps the client identify their goals and motivates them to achieve them. The counselor also provides education about addiction and teaches skills such as coping skills, stress management skills, how to deal with cravings, how to avoid relapse triggers, and how to keep the recovery going when it gets difficult.
