Can Japanese Encephalitis Be Prevented Through Vaccination?

Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a viral brain infection that is spread through mosquito bites. It is most common in rural areas of Asia and the Western Pacific. While most infections are mild or without symptoms, a small percentage can lead to severe illness, including inflammation of the brain (encephalitis), which can be fatal. Given the severity of the disease, the question arises: can Japanese encephalitis be prevented through vaccination?
