Type 321 is formed by adding titanium. ASTM A240 Type 321 is meant to supply corrosion resistance through repeated intermittent exposure to temperatures exceeding 800 degrees Fahrenheit. ASTM A240 Type 321 (UNS S32100) may be a stable chrome steel plate. When exposed to chromium carbide deposition temperatures of 427 to 816°C (800 to 1500°F), its main advantage is superb resistance to intergranular corrosion performance by adding titanium.
