Organ repair in musical instruments refers to the process of fixing and restoring the functionality of organs, which are complex musical instruments that produce sound through the vibration of pipes or reeds. This can involve repairing damaged components, tuning the instrument, or replacing worn out parts.
How sound is produced
A pipe organ feeds wind into pipes, causing the air to oscillate and produce a sound. The pipes stand in line above the box referred to as the wind-chest, with wind fed from below into the pipes the organist wishes to use to produce sound. In music, the organ is a keyboard instrument of one or more pipe divisions or other means (generally woodwind or electric) for producing tones.
