Our founder, Arthur Pollack, was born in Yonkers, NY but moved to Germany as a young child. Luckily, he escaped Nazi Germany in the 1930s, returning to America where he subsequently served the U.S. in World War II first as a paratrooper and, after the war, as a translator at the Nuremberg Trials. He was particularly well-suited for this role as he had a natural gift for languages, eventually becoming fluent in 13 different tongues. Later in life, following his graduation from law school as a result of the G.I. Bill, his facility in foreign languages led him to found a law firm specializing in U.S. immigration law. Arthur’s son, Conrad Pollack, graduated from Brooklyn Law School in the 1980s and joined his father’s firm. While both father and son looked forward to working together, unforeseen circumstances caused their time to be cut short.
