Germany offered 80,000 Work Visas in Q1 & Q2 of 2024
Germany approved 80,000 Work Visas in the first two quarters – January to June of 2024. The increasing inflow of skilled overseas workers is due to two factors – scarcity of skills and a rise in average Salary in Germany. Further, of the approved Work Visas 40,000 were offered to skilled workers. The increase in the number of Work Visas is directly linked to the scarcity of workers in Germany specifically for skilled workers. EURES 2023 report highlighted that the nation is witnessing shortages of workers in 70 plus diverse occupations.
