The procedure allows for a single application to be filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EU IPO) and makes it significantly quicker, easier and more affordable to obtain protection in all 27 EU countries than applying to each country individually. The EUTM System runs parallel to the trade mark legislation of each national EU member state.
