A historic event took place in Iligan City, marking a significant step forward in the city’s ongoing fight against illegal drugs and its commitment to improving public health and safety. City Mayor Celso G. Regencia, alongside notable national and local officials, led the launch of the Facility-Based Drug Rehabilitation Program (FBDRP) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) compound in Barangay Tipanoy, followed by the Groundbreaking Ceremony for Balay Silangan (Permanent Site) and the Blessing and Opening of Balay Silangan (Temporary Drug Reformatory-Rehabilitation Facility) in Sitio Fatima, Barangay Abuno. These significant milestones underscore the city’s continued efforts to provide holistic and sustainable rehabilitation services to drug dependents and offenders, helping them reintegrate into society as productive and law-abiding citizens.
