Cloud storage has some drawbacks. For one, you do not have complete control over your data storage arrangement since the company that owns your data is not within your control. Two, it is not easy to transfer your data to a different cloud provider once you have registered, which is vendor lock-in. Thirdly, you require an internet connection to access remotely stored information, and in case of an internet failure, it can result in expensive downtime. Fourthly, security and privacy have been a concern in the past since confidential information is being transferred to a third-party firm. Finally, some cloud storage providers might tie you into a long-term contract, which can be detrimental if your data storage requirements reduce.
