Lake Manasarovar, at 4,590 meters (15,060 feet) in Tibet, is one of the world’s highest freshwater lakes. It is revered as a sacred site in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon, and is said to have been constructed by Brahma, the Hindu god of creation. The lake’s crystal-clear waters reflect the snow-capped summits, particularly the majestic Mount Kailash.
