When to take Saccharomyces Boulardii

Saccharomyces boulardii is a strain of yeast used as a probiotic that aids in digestion, and it can be used in treating and preventing diarrhoea and different types of gastrointestinal problems. Like any other probiotic, it has been found to have a dependency on the timing as well in the frequency at which it is consumed.

Without Food: Saccharomyces boulardii can be ingested without having food because it is highly resistant to stomach acidity. This makes it more flexible than other types of probiotics that may be affected by the stomach’s conditions.

With Meals: It may be better to take saccharomyces boulardii with meals since this would augment the survival capacity of the probiotic as the presence of food items act as a barrier to stomach acid.

Alongside Antibiotics: The key application of saccharomyces boulardii is as a counter to antibiotic-induced diarrhoea. It can be taken alongside antibiotics as it is not sensitive to antibiotics that are used to treat bacterial infections.
