Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is a term used for the imitation of human intelligence in machines programmed to think, learn, and make decisions. These systems are aimed at carrying out tasks requiring human thinking, e.g., language comprehension, pattern recognition, problem solving, and even decision-making. AI has emerged as one of the most important technological advances of the 21st century, having an impact on industries, education, health, finance, and daily life.

AI may be classified into two main categories: Narrow AI and General AI. Narrow AI, or Weak AI, is constructed to accomplish definite tasks. Some examples are voice assistants such as Siri and Alexa, recommendation engines on Netflix or Amazon, and email spam filters. These models run under formulated rules or trained algorithms but can't accomplish anything that isn't within their programming.
