An enterprise-level tower server, the HP ProLiant ML350P G8 Server has a memory of 16GB DDR3 RDIMM expandable to 384GB at 1866MHz. It is scalable by up to 768GB with LR-DIMMs at 1866MHz. The ML350P can handle robust and demanding applications with ease. Drawing parallels between the Dell T620 and HP ML350P G8, we found that HP consumes much lesser power. The HP ML350P draws 96W in the idle state, and 248W when all its cores are used to the maximum. In comparison, the Dell T620 consumes 126W in the idle state and 278W under similar heavy load. In terms of expansion potential too, the HP ML350P does better than the Dell T620 by virtue of its 8 PCIe Gen3 slots, and single Gen2 slot activated. The T620 has two less than the HP ML350P comparatively.
