Endovenous Laser Treatment for Varicose Veins

Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT), also known as Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), is a minimally invasive, outpatient procedure that treats varicose veins with real-time ultrasound guidance. A thin laser fiber is inserted through a small incision into the diseased vein, delivering heat that collapses and seals the vein. Blood is then rerouted through healthier vessels, improving circulation. EVLT offers high success rates (reported as high as 98%), minimal downtime, no scarring, and a quick return to normal activities. Potential side effects include temporary bruising, tenderness, swelling, nerve irritation, or skin discoloration—but serious complications are rare.
